Yoga has become massively popular over the last several years in the United States. The benefits it offers have become well know.

What more and more athletes are finding out is that yoga is a great exercise to help them improve in their chosen sport. All of the benefits of yoga mentioned above can be extremely useful to athletes in just about any sport.

Improving flexibility can help to avoid muscle pulls and cramps. Increased stamina allows one to perform at a higher level for longer periods of time. Each of these things and many more can prove to be instrumental in an athlete’s success, and each is something that can be attained through yoga.

Yoga does not have to substitute for baseball player’s or hockey player’s normal workout routine. But there is no reason it cannot be used to compliment it. Some of the best yoga videos are used by major athletes to improve their performance on the field or court.
